When Cosmic Ferro Alloys, once regarded as the flagship business of Cosmic Birla Group, entered liquidation, many believed the Group had reached its lowest point. Businesses have recovered from setbacks before, but very few have rebuilt themselves with the speed and conviction shown by this industrial house. Instead of accepting defeat, Aditya chose to begin again, turning one of the darkest chapters in the company’s history into the starting point of an entirely new phase.

The story of Cosmic Birla Group stretches back to 1975, when Late R.S. Birla and Deo Kishan Mohta came together to build a manufacturing company focused on engineering products and components. R.S. Birla carried decades of industrial experience from his leadership roles within the GD Birla Group, while the new venture carried the ambition to create something independent. Years later, Ravi Kumar Birla strengthened the business by setting up its ferro alloy plant and expanding its manufacturing base. When Aditya stepped into leadership, he inherited not only a respected family business but also the responsibility of protecting its future during one of its toughest periods.

That renewed momentum soon appeared in business numbers. Cosmic CRF Ltd was listed on the Bombay Stock Exchange in June 2023 and gained attention from investors. During the first half of the 2024 and 2025 financial year, the company posted revenue growth of 37.19 percent, EBITDA growth of 136.03 percent, and profit after tax growth of 172.33 percent. Those figures placed the company among the fastest-growing manufacturing businesses in eastern India and signalled that the rebuilding effort was producing real commercial success.

Today, Cosmic Birla Group operates across several manufacturing sectors with nearly one thousand direct and indirect employees. Its businesses include Cosmic CRF Ltd, AVB Entech, Comet Technocom, Cosmic Rail Solutions Ltd, Cosmic Steel Castings Ltd, N S Engineering Pvt Ltd and several other companies working across different industrial segments. Together, they manufacture steel products, railway components, engineering goods, automotive materials, and construction products while supplying a large share of the railway wagon manufacturing chain within India. The Group’s position as a recognised vendor for the Research Design and Standards Organisation has added further credibility to its growing presence in the railway sector.

Another area attracting attention is Raft Cosmic EV, the electric two-wheeler business. Rather than limiting itself to vehicle sales, the company entered the rental and leasing market for last-mile delivery fleets. Its electric scooters already operate through delivery partners such as Zomato and Swiggy, allowing the business to participate in India’s growing quick commerce segment. Alongside that expansion, the company continues investing in green steel, solar power, rainwater harvesting, and energy audits while preparing new electric capacity of thirty thousand metric tonnes.

Cosmic Rail Solutions Ltd is preparing to expand into complete wagon manufacturing, while another planned acquisition in Barjora is expected to strengthen the Group’s internal supply of raw materials. A specialised spring manufacturing unit at Jangalpur adds another important capability for railway components. Together, these projects form part of a planned investment of around Rs 1,000 crore by 2027, with manufacturing capacity targeted to reach five lakh metric tonnes and revenue projected at Rs 5,000 crore by 2028.

Industry recognition has followed these business results. Cosmic CRF Ltd received the Best Performing Company in the MSME Sector award during Mahurat Trading Day in 2024 and was also honoured for Excellence in Industrial Innovation at the Times Business Awards West Bengal. The Group earned recognition as one of India’s Fastest Growing Brands, while Union Minister Nitin Gadkari felicitated the company as an Emerging Business Conglomerate during the Viksit Bharat 2047 event. Such acknowledgements arrived after years of rebuilding rather than easy success.

Inside the company, one belief remains unchanged. Timely delivery, manufacturing depth, technology adoption, and skilled people continue to shape daily operations. Aditya believes that businesses earn trust by delivering when customers expect them to, not after deadlines have passed. That thinking has helped the Group strengthen long-term relationships across railways, automobile manufacturing, engineering goods, and steel.

“Our Group is present in core sectors like railways, automobile, iron and steel and engineering goods, which are the drivers of economic growth in our country today. We strive to be one of the largest contributors in each of these sectors,” he says.

More than five decades after its founding, Cosmic Birla Group is writing a fresh chapter. Its journey has included success, disappointment, rebuilding, and fresh ambition, all within a single generation of leadership. Aditya did not allow one failed chapter to define the future. Instead, he turned that setback into the beginning of a business story that continues to gather pace across Indian manufacturing, railway engineering, steel production, and electric mobility.

If you object to the content of this press release, please notify us at pr.error.rectification@gmail.com.
