Ahmedabad (Gujarat) [India], February 10:<\/strong> <\/span>The growth narrative around Ahmedabad is undergoing a decisive shift.<\/p>\n

In a recent post on social media platform X, Anshuman Magazine, Chairman & CEO \u2013 India, South-East Asia, Middle East & Africa, CBRE, said that \u201cthe narrative in Ahmedabad has shifted from organic expansion to intentional, high-paced growth.\u201d He noted that the city\u2019s evolution is increasingly being shaped by deliberate, strategy-led expansion.<\/p>\n

Referring to his recent visit, Magazine said, \u201cDuring my recent visit to the city, I met with our city team who are driving high-impact transactions and real estate and infrastructure solutions that are setting new benchmarks in the region.\u201d He added that CBRE continues to \u201cdeliver unparalleled value to our clients, helping them optimize their portfolios and ensure operational resilience for their businesses.\u201d<\/p>\n

Underlining the broader transformation underway, Magazine observed that \u201cAhmedabad is no longer just a regional hub; it is maturing into a primary commercial powerhouse for Western India.\u201d He pointed out that this shift is underpinned by \u201crobust infrastructure tailwinds and a notable surge in long-term institutional investor confidence.\u201d<\/p>\n

Highlighting GIFT City as a key indicator of this momentum, Magazine said, \u201cGIFT City today is no longer just a \u2018vision\u2019; it is hitting critical mass.\u201d He noted that \u201cwith nearly half of its 62 million sq. ft. planned built-up area already allotted, the project demonstrates significant institutional confidence.\u201d<\/p>\n

Referring to policy support, he added that \u201cthe Union Budget 2026 provides a tax holiday extension for GIFT City entities to 20 years, followed by a concessional 15% corporate tax rate.\u201d According to him, \u201cthis will enhance GIFT City\u2019s competitiveness as an offshore financial hub and may drive demand for Grade A offices and specialised fintech infrastructure.\u201d<\/p>\n

Turning to connectivity, Magazine pointed out that \u201cthe expansion of the Ahmedabad\u2013Gandhinagar Metro network to over 68 km serves as a vital economic artery.\u201d He said that \u201cby linking key urban nodes through Phase II, the city is effectively widening its office catchment area,\u201d adding that \u201cthis transit-oriented development ensures GIFT City remains accessible to a diverse talent pool across the twin cities.\u201d<\/p>\n

Magazine further highlighted civic infrastructure as a key enabler, stating that \u201cthe successful delivery of massive projects such as the Narendra Modi Stadium serves as a proof of concept for the region\u2019s administrative capabilities.\u201d He added that these anchors \u201cdemonstrate the technical and logistical expertise to manage world-class infrastructure, high-density crowds and complex urban planning.\u201d<\/p>\n

Looking ahead, Magazine said that \u201cAhmedabad\u2019s long-range planning is gaining another milestone, with the city formally ratified as the host of the 2030 Commonwealth Games.\u201d He noted that this development is \u201clikely to keep infrastructure delivery and urban planning firmly in focus in the years ahead.\u201d<\/p>\n
